students were able to figure this out in 6 minutes or less.

First of all, the last part of the riddle is missing. "Can you answer this riddle?"

The answer is simply "no".

That's why kindergarteners can answer it...

Although the riddle originally was based on a poem about time, there were errors in it that make it impossible to be answered with "time".

The last part of the riddle, "If you squeeze me, I'll pop.

If you look at me, you'll pop." is actually from an old riddle which had the answer "bubble". (if you squeeze it it will pop, if you look at it you see your reflection and you pop.)

And the answer "pressure" came from someone who knew nothing at all about why it is cold at the north pole or why polar bears appear white, and just made a wild guess.

Do a little research, and you'll see pressure has absolutely nothing to do with it...

Polar bears are white because the pressure at the poles is low, so they have to be able to absorb heat.

Pressure makes you cry if it's too much.

Pressure in your bladder makes you have to pee.

Peer pressure makes girls comb their hair...Otherwise we wouldn't bother!

Celebrities usually crack under pressure.

Many normal people will shine under pressure.

Pancakes turn brown thanks to pressure generated by the heat.

Champagne will bubble until the pressure of the carbonation has disappeared.

If you squeeze something under pressure, BAM, there it goes.

If you are "looking" at pressure, you're in it, like in an airplane, and your ears pop.

but the fact tht most kindergartens children figured it out makes me change my mind. If tht is tru thn it must be god. Most kids believe in god and they dont doubt it BUT AS WE GROW we begin to doubt and start looking for other explinations. So may be the harvard graduates thought it all complexly and could not find the answer to the riddle. I am sure tht one of these answers is right.

I asked my daughter who just got out of Kindergarten she did not know the answer. So then I asked my 4 year old she looked at me like I was nuts and left the room.

I don't think there is a answer I just think it's to frustrate people because they can't figure out the answer.
